The properties of Merino wool
Very often, in winter, fashion brands offer sweaters in their collections. And many of these sweaters are made from Merino wool. But what is special about this Merino wool? We will detail its properties which make it a brilliant material.
Merino wool regulates temperature
Merino wool fibers have the property of trapping small cushions of air: the garment then becomes a very effective thermal insulator. And yes, air is an excellent insulator. The small air cushions warm up on contact with human heat and therefore allow our sweater to keep us warm while adapting to our body.
Merino wool regulates humidity
This magnificent wool has a very powerful antibacterial effect: the bacteria responsible for bad odors find it very difficult to cling to the fibers of Merino wool, which makes it a very effective material for combating odors.
Merino wool neutralizes odors
This magnificent wool has a very powerful antibacterial effect: the bacteria responsible for bad odors find it very difficult to cling to the fibers of Merino wool, which makes it a very effective material for combating odors.
In addition, Merino wool has, within its fibers, a molecule (keratin) which destroys bacteria. When wool absorbs moisture - and therefore sweat - keratin eliminates these bacteria.
Odors are much less present when you wear a Merino wool sweater than when you wear synthetic clothing.
Merino wool is very soft
From 25 microns, the fibers that make up clothing can create an unpleasant sensation. We've all experienced the itchy sweater! But with Merino wool this sensation does not exist. In fact, its fibers are so fine (around 16 microns) that you feel real softness.
Merino wool is natural and ecological
Merino wool comes from Merino sheep, of which there are large herds in Australia and New Zealand. They are sheared once or twice a year. Wool is a completely natural, ecological and biodegradable material.
It is for these many reasons that Merino wool is an extraordinary material for our creations. We are therefore proud to regularly offer you Merino wool sweaters.
